Giant river otter pup and his caiman buddy

It's been a while since I painted an otter. It's otter time again. A young giant river otter pup is resting on the warm brazilian sandy beach along with his caiman buddy. Giant otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) are among the largest of otters and are highly social. They are often known as water dogs, river wolves, and ariranha. Both caimans and river wolves love eating fish, especially red-bellied piranha.
