Clover Field Monster

I had a lot of fun experimenting with textures and digital filters in Photoshop. This scene shows the birth and family life of an Appalachiosaurus, from when he was a hatchling bravely chasing down bug quarry to his life as a new found daddy bringing his little daughter a midnight snack (door mouse). These dinosaurs lived in my neck of the woods. They appear to be related to Albertosaurus, but occur on the Eastern Coast of the Inland Sea. They were feathered at least as juveniles, so I had fun with feathering the little Tyrannosaur chick (I know I overdid it, but he turned out much cuter than I had intended). The sketch has been submitted to my scrapbook.
